LAURINBURG — Police say a robber pushed a man to the ground and fished $720 out of his pocket at gunpoint Tuesday.

The victim withdrew the cash from a a bank machine located behind the Richmond Community College satelite building on Fairly Street, according to a police report.

Police said he was walking on Atkinson Street around 4:56 a.m. when a man came up behind him and knocked him to the ground.

The man was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans, according to the report.

Police said the robber held a gun to the back of the man’s head while he was lying on the ground and took the money from his pocket. The gunman ran east toward Main Street.
