LAURINBURG — Sheriff’s deputies in Robeson County are searching for a Laurinburg man accused of shooting and killing a man in a St. Pauls home invasion last month.

Quatrell Damar Nicholson, 24, is wanted on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of 51-year-old Rodney Kirk Murphy on Sept. 28, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. He was shot in the stomach.

Nicholson, whose last-known address is Grant Street, Laurinburg, is also wanted on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon; three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon; four counts of first-degree kidnapping of a person older than 16; two counts of first-degree kidnapping of a person younger than 16; two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Nicholson is described as a black man, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Three other people were injured during the home invasion at 3354 Shaw Road.

A resident of the home, 36-year-old Leila Marie Brooks, was beaten with a pistol; 36-year-old Horace Jamal Glover Jr., of Britt Road in St. Pauls, was shot in the stomach; and 37-year-old John Lydell Bullard, of Victoria Drive in Parkton, was shot in the hand.

Maj. Anthony Thompson, chief of detectives, said that investigators continue to look for others who may have been involved. Following the incident, the sheriff’s office released images of two suspects.
