Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church to celebrate 45th anniversary Sunday

SATURDAY

NEW HOPE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH will present a workshop on church etiquette at 10:30 a.m. with guest speaker Dovey Brown. Registration is free, and the event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

ST. LUKE NO. 2 FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 119 Morrow St., Hamlet, will have Pastor Darrell McSween preach its 10:30 a.m. morning service. The St. Luke No. 2 Free Will Baptist Church gospel choir will be celebrating its anniversary at 3 p.m. Various choirs, soloists and praise teams have been invited. LOVELY HILL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 120 Lincoln St., Rockingham, along with first lady Arnetta Kemp will honor senior citizens during the 11 a.m. morning service. The guest speaker will be Deacon James McDonald. All senior citizens and the public are invited.

ASHLEY CHAPEL AME ZION CHURCH, 332 Mizpah Road, Rockingham, and its missionary department will sponsor a program at 2 p.m. with motivational speaker Angela Blount. All are invited.

MOUNT CALVARY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 685 Ledbetter Road, Rockingham, will celebrate its 45th anniversary at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor Daniel Scott from Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Rockingham along with his choir and congregation. Everyone is invited to attend.

BASS TEMPLE CHURCH will celebrate its annual ushers day at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Minister Denise Moore of Greater Faith United Church of God in Biscoe. All churches and ushers are welcome.

FRIENDSHIP MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, N.C. 177, Dobbins Heights, will celebrate its deacon, deaconess and trustee day at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Pastor James Smith of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Bennettsville along with his choir and congregation. All churches are invited.

MOUNT SINAI BAPTIST CHURCH, 171 Graham Bridge Road, Rockingham, and its men’s ministry will host a program entitled “Men With A Purpose” at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Pastor Robert Williams of First Baptist Church, Carolina Park, Laurinburg. All are invited.

PHILADELPHIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Rockingham, will host the Steeles family’s 54th anniversary and celebration of the late Rev. Sylvester Steele Sr. at 3 p.m.

FAITH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 276 Hatcher Road, Rockingham, will have its vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly July 17-22. The theme will be “Egypt: Joseph’s Journey From Prison to Palace.”

PRAYER DELIVERANCE MINISTRIES, 108 School St., Rockingham, hosts a feeding program for the homeless each Wednesday.

FAITH ASSEMBLY OUTREACH MINISTRIES will be having a soup kitchen 9 to 10:15 a.m. every Sunday and from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. every Tuesday. No one is turned away. Food furnished by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and donations.

ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 311 Marlboro St., Hamlet, invites those without a church home or new to the community to worship with its congregation on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. and to share in the mission to feed the hungry of the community. With a more traditional worship, St. Paul observes the church year calendar of Sundays and seasons.
