RICHMOND COUNTY SENIOR SYMPOSIUM AND DOG SHOW will be from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cole Auditorium in Hamlet. Classes to be held include Medicare 101, Diabetes, Tai Chi, Scams, ID Fraud, SHIIP and Cardiac Care. The dog show will be from 2 to 4 p.m. with a $5 donation to the Humane Society. Adoption fee will be waived to those 60 and older who wish to adopt a dog. There will be door prizes, and lunch will be provided. RICHMOND COUNTY ANIMAL ADVOCATES will have a fundraiser from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Pattan’s Downtown Grille, 228 East Washington St., Rockingham.

HOT DOG SALE from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at J.C. Penney in the Richmond Plaza Shopping Center. Hot dog plates are $5 each and include two hot dogs, bag of chips and drink. Proceeds will benefit the United Way of Richmond County.

July 2

COUNTRY BREAKFAST will take place from 7 to 10 a.m. at Spring Hill Wesleyan Church, located off N.C. 38 on Spring Hill Church Road, Hamlet. Plates are $6 for all-you-can-eat. Carry-out plates available. Call 910-582-5150. Funds raised will go for future projects, missions and those in need.

RSI JOB FAIR will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the NCWorks Career Center-Richmond County, 115 West Franklin St., Rockingham. Position available is maintenance technician. PANCAKE BREAKFAST sponsored by the East Rockingham United Methodist Church men’s club will be from 7 to 10 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. The charge is $4 for all-you-can-eat. A sweets and crafts sale will be held at the same time.

WATER BLAST presented by Sister Circle Women of Color will be from noon to 3 p.m. at Falling Creek Park, 405 Hood St., Rockingham. The free event will feature water slides, swimming pools, food and a live DJ. Bring a lawn chair, bathing suit and towels.
