Mrs. Willie Mae Tyson, 88, of 3912 Hwy 73 West, Mt. Gilead, N.C., died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Maple Grove Nursing Home in Greensboro, N.C.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at Snow Hill Missionary Church in Mt. Gilead with Rev. Michael Perick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Tyson was born on Oct. 9, 1924, in Richmond County, daughter of the late Will Hine and Bessie Rush. She worked as a cook for a restaurant.
She is survived by seven children; Walter Tyson of Mt. Gilead, Janice Tyson of Mt. Gilead, James Tyson of Greensboro, Gloria Tyson, Bessie Tyson of Mt. Gilead, Reginald Tyson and Larry Tyson of High Point, N.C.; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
