Man accused of scrapping stolen car

DOBBINS HEIGHTS — Sheriff’s deputies say a man sold someone else’s car for scrap and had it picked up from the victim’s front yard.

Anthony Lymel Jamison, 33, of Horseshoe Drive, Dobbins Heights, had a wrecker pick up a vehicle from a yard on Wall Street without the owner’s permission, according to Richmond County deputies.

Jamison then sold the vehicle to a local scrap yard, deputies say.

Jamison was arrested Monday and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and obtaining property by false pretenses.

He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Court records show Jamison is also facing charges of assault on a female, misdemeanor larceny and second-degree trespassing. —William R. Toler
