Heather Bryce Simmons and Jesse Ray Futrell were united in marriage on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Rockingham, NC. The wedding was officiated by Rev. Mike Sykes.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bruce Simmons of Rockingham. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Leo Maske and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Arthur Simmons and the late Mrs. Lena Simmons. She is a graduate of Richmond Senior High School. She also graduated from South Piedmont Community College with an Associate’s degree in Nursing and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Nursing. She is currently teaching Health Sciences education at Richmond Senior High School and is also a nurse at Moore Regional Hospital in Neurosciences.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Winfield Futrell of Ellerbe. He is also the grandson of Mr. Eddison Evon Craven and the late Mrs. Lois Holder Craven and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Ray Futrell. He is a graduate of Richmond Senior High School. He also graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is currently working with Lowe’s Home Improvement.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Herbert Bruce Simmons. The Matron of Honor was the bride’s sister, Mrs. Brittany Simmons Brown of Rockingham and attending as bridesmaids were Shannon Irene Futrell, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Allison McRae Allred of Rockingham. Eveie Anne Futrell, daughter of the groom, was the flower girl.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Mrs. Helen Alexander and vocalist Wessley Futrell, brother of the groom.
The Best Man was father of the groom, Ted Winfield Futrell. Attending as groomsmen were Wessley Charles Futrell, brother of the groom, of Ellerbe and Matthew Bruce Simmons, brother of the bride, of Elgin, SC.
The reception was held at Liberty Place in Rockingham.
